FAQs

Q - How do I get my nephew/grandchild/neighbor kid (child who is not my son or daughter) into an event?

A – At ‘Non-Spectator’ events, a Minor Waiver is necessary. Remember only a parent/legal guardian may sign a Minor Waiver.

Q – It’s a ‘Non-Spectator’ event, now what do I do?

A – Minor waiver forms are available in Registration at the event and also at www.scca.org under Forms/Applications (the form must be printed in color). Signatures on the Minor Waiver must be witnessed by either an SCCA Registrar OR a Notary Public. An SCCA Steward may witness a ‘Single Event’ Minor Waiver. Remember only a parent/legal guardian may sign.

Q – What is a yellow photo ID and how can I get one for my child?

A – Yellow photo IDs are extremely useful in the case of a Minor who is often at SCCA events. It indicates that a properly signed ‘Annual’ waiver has been submitted and is valid through the end of the calendar year. It is advised not to have the child wear the yellow photo ID since replacement could be a hassle.

Q – My child had a pink photo ID, can we just use that to get a new yellow ID?

A – No. The Minor Waiver form has been revised and the new one must be properly completed.

Q – My 16- (or 17-) year old child has a red ‘W’ stamped on their membership/license cards. Do I need to do anything different?

A – No. That red ‘W’ indicates that you have already completed the proper forms for that child. These new Minor Waiver procedures do not apply to your situation.

Q – The child’s parents are not in the same household. What do I do?

A – Contact your Registrar prior to the event for assistance.
